Track 7 from my monthly song series The Teenage Years. A version of this song appeared on The Only Girl at an All-Boys Pool Party mixtape and was recorded the night I wrote it. I love the raw quality of the original so much that it was hard to re-do. When I sat down in my bedroom to make this song happen, I wanted to keep it simple but it was missing something. I texted my new friend Chris Mansfield (of Fences) and asked if he’d sing on the track. Five days later he came over and added the background harmonies that took this version to the next level.
